2011 State Competitive Festival Award Winners

Congratulations to all of our 2011 winners!

Lynette Maureen Card Musical Theater Award
Mikayla Foote
Taught by Katie McClave

Mikayla Foote, age 16, currently lives in Superior, Colorado, and attends high school in the local area. She has been taking voice lessons for almost a year with Dana V. Music at the Art Underground in Louisville, but has had a lifelong passion for music, singing, and all aspects of the arts her entire life. She has participated in choir, and a children’s repertory theater group throughout middle school, and has continued her musical theater career in high school. Along with school sponsored events, Mikayla also competed in the 2011 NATS competition in musical theater and received Honorable Mention for the Colorado/Wyoming competition. When she grows up, Mikayla wishes to work in the music industry, to further her love for the art. Lastly, she would like to thank the Colorado Federation of Music Clubs for presenting her with the Top Performer award, and Jodie J. Jensen for establishing the Lynette M. Card Scholarship Fund which recognizes young performers and the need to support the art of musical theater.

“Thank you so much for the scholarship and recognition. I appreciate your generosity and your support of young artists. I look forward to seeing you at future CFMC events! Thank you again!” Mikayla Foote
