Artist Information: Susan Ogilvy

Susan Ogilvy owns and operates an innovative music studio in Denton, TX for children of all ages. She holds a B.M.E. and M.M.E. from the University of North Texas where she studied piano with Robert J. Rogers and Margaret Grubb. She has written piano solos for Alfred Publishers and for the “Celebrate Piano!” method published by Frederick J. Harris (Canada). Susan and her husband Jim, compose digital keyboard ensembles for their company, Ogilvy Music, located at sospace.com She maintains a second website of training videos for the Clavinova, including compositions written specifically for the instrument.

Susan has traveled for seven years for YAMAHA Corporation of America training teachers how to use the Clavinova for the Clavinova Festival and in their studios. She is director of KETS (Keyboard Ensemble and Technology Seminar), a week long seminar for piano teachers and music educators co-sponsored by YAMAHA and is currently hosted by the University of Central Oklahoma. She is a state and national clinician and conducts digital ensemble concerts across the country. Susan has worked in the church for twenty-five years conducting adult, youth, children and handbell choirs, is a certified Kindermusik teacher and has accompanied the Dallas Symphony Chorus.
